Benefits of Membership
Ask any of our members and partners and they’ll tell you the same thing: SEAoT is the largest and most active association of structural engineers and allied professionals in Texas.
Besides being a part of an engaged group of like-minded engineers, a SEAoT membership offers unparalleled advantages:
Local Presence (Chapters)
SEAoT currently has 7 regional chapters in Texas. These chapters offer a local community of peers and activities for networking and career advancement. Chapters host their own monthly meetings featuring technical presentations by industry leaders. In addition, chapters periodically organize social events to foster engagement among members.
SEAoT provides an informative newsletter to its members four times a year. This quarterly journal includes a message from the president, relevant legislative news, technical articles, new products and other items of interest.
As stated above, each chapter hosts monthly meetings, which are open to all and free to all members of SEAoT. Topics range from important engineering concepts and case studies to association and legislative updates and are all worth Professional Development Hours (PDH). In addition, SEAoT offers on-demand, continuing education videos, also worth PDH.
Annual State Conference
Each year, SEAoT hosts an annual conference for the betterment of the structural engineering profession. This event provides insights into the latest technologies, materials and applications as well as exciting networking and professional development opportunities.
Your SEAoT membership includes automatic membership in NCSEA, including a subscription to STRUCTURE magazine.
In addition to the networking opportunities from events, your membership in SEAoT automatically enrolls you in a virtual directory, good for career and other advancement opportunities.
As a member of SEAoT, you receive special pricing for all SEAoT conferences and events, discounts for the NCSEA annual Structural Engineering Summit and other events (as applicable) and discounts on resources and educational materials.
Your membership helps SEAoT continue to be the voice of structural engineers in Texas. A percentage of your dues goes toward lobbying for imperative issues and initiatives that affect structural engineers.
Get involved! SEAoT offers several volunteering opportunities in the form of state committees. From government affairs to membership, each committee is an integral part in the growth of SEAoT and its mission.
