Engineer B or C (Structural)
The City of Austin is looking to hire a Engineer B or C to the Development Services Department.
Development Services Department (DSD) assists homeowners, business owners, and contractors when they build, demolish, remodel or perform any type of construction to ensure compliance with applicable city and building codes.
This position is part of the Expedited Plan Review Team which consists of up to 11 team members of different review disciplines. All plan reviews are performed in a live meeting setting with the entire review team, the applicant and their design team. The goal is to reduce plan review turnaround times and to expedite the issuance of building permits by working collaboratively with the applicant and their design team. This position is responsible for performing structural review of construction documents to determine code compliance and processing permit applications for commercial and multifamily development. The work requires the technical expertise necessary to perform building code review of plans, including comprehensive knowledge of code requirements, City of Austin Code Amendments and Ordinances, and their practical applications to building designs and public safety requirements. The successful candidate will be people-centered, supportive and flexible in order to get the most of his/her team.

Structural Engineering Graduate Engineers and EIT’s
P.E. Structural Consultants, Inc. (PESC) is hiring Structural Engineering graduate engineers and EIT’s. PESC’s portfolio includes major Bridges and Transportation structures, Civic buildings, Forensic Investigation and Specialty Analyses. This variety requires qualified candidates to have a solid background in analysis and design of concrete and steel structures and affords them the opportunity to develop their careers working on a wide range of projects. Students currently enrolled in a graduate structures program who are interested in working part-time as Graduate Interns will also be considered.

SEAoT membership is offered to corporations and individuals who are interested in the practice of structural engineering and its peripheral issues. SEAoT membership runs from January – December.
However, depending when you join, your membership for the first year will be prorated so that you only pay for the remainder of the year. (Those joining between October 1 and December 31, pay full membership which covers them up to the end of December of the year following the year in which they join.) There are a number of membership options.
