Structural Engineer – P.E./S.E

Structural Engineer – P.E./S.E

J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc., is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to work in our Boise, ID, or Logan, UT office. Our team has long-term core clients who are developing interesting and challenging projects. The Structural Engineer will perform structural analysis of various building systems and materials and complete design calculations using the latest codes (IBC, ACI, AISC, NDS, TMS, ASCE 7, etc.). The Structural Engineer shall also prepare and oversee the production of construction drawings, specifications, and estimates for construction costs. Quality control reviews of other team members’ work, as well as client interaction and communication on projects, will be expected.

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Structural design using concrete, steel, wood, and masonry
  • Design of buildings, structures for complex infrastructure including hydraulic structures, water tanks, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, etc.
  • Lateral wind and seismic analysis of new and existing structures
  • Review of geotechnical documentation
  • Foundation selection and design
  • Retaining wall structure design
  • Client communication, project engineering, and project management
  • Generation of opinions of cost
  • Check design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications created by others
  • Mentoring and oversight of developing engineering staff

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required
  • Must have Professional Engineer Licensure; S.E. designation or a desire to obtain this designation.
  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience
  • A solid understanding of the IBC, ACI, TMS, AISC, and ASCE 7 codes
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience are strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred software knowledge: RISA, Enercalc, Woodworks, TEDDS, and/or SAP2000
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills

Structural Residential Project Engineer

JVA is seeking a full-time structural project engineer or project manager with significant custom residential experience to join our employee-centric team. Successful candidates will be capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices in broad areas. Although working out of the Winter Park office is preferred, candidates will be considered for our Boulder, Denver, or Fort Collins offices. Minorities are encouraged to apply. $68,000 – $84,000 Annually DOQ.

Qualifications:

SEAoT Membership

SEAoT membership is offered to corporations and individuals who are interested in the practice of structural engineering and its peripheral issues. SEAoT membership runs from January – December.

However, depending when you join, your membership for the first year will be prorated so that you only pay for the remainder of the year. (Those joining between October 1 and December 31, pay full membership which covers them up to the end of December of the year following the year in which they join.) There are a number of membership options.
