Currently, we have an opportunity for an Associate Structural Engineer to work at our Fort Worth, TX location.

About You

As our Associate Structural Engineer, you will be the driving force behind our projects, steering them from conception to completion. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of small to medium-sized projects, applying your expertise in design and engineering. You will also play a pivotal role in scheduling, marketing, and business development initiatives while mentoring our junior engineers.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Designing complex structures, ensuring they meet codes and project requirements.
  • Supervise the development of BIM models using Autodesk Revit for Contract Documents.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and perform site observations.
  • Define project budgets and scopes, interfacing effectively with clients and construction teams.
  • Mentor junior staff providing technical leadership.

 

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Project management experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Completed the 8-hour NCEES Civil-Structural Examination.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Familiarity with construction materials and procedures.
  • Decisiveness and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Software Proficiency

Structural Engineer

ABOUT THE POSITION

A multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering, and construction firm is seeking a Structural Engineer. They are looking for someone to help them with forensic construction defect litigation at their offices in Austin and Houston, TX.

Your Day Includes

  • Conducting structural engineering analysis and design projects involving mainly timber, as well as concrete and masonry structures
  • Planning and conducting site investigations to document existing conditions
  • Managing smaller projects that may include seismic analyses and evaluations, design of structural elements for large infrastructure projects, investigation of structural failures, and design of rehabilitation and retrofit measures for problem structures
  • Directly engaging with clients within the context of existing work

 

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a closely related discipline
  • Familiarity with computer analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report

SEAoT Membership

SEAoT membership is offered to corporations and individuals who are interested in the practice of structural engineering and its peripheral issues. SEAoT membership runs from January – December.

However, depending when you join, your membership for the first year will be prorated so that you only pay for the remainder of the year. (Those joining between October 1 and December 31, pay full membership which covers them up to the end of December of the year following the year in which they join.) There are a number of membership options.
